This section has been setup to give members a better understanding of how our guild functions and what role members play in this system. It must be stressed that all members have an equally important role in our guild. We strive for total equality, however, a strict hierarchy has been developed to keep our guild well organized and easy to coordinate. Most importantly this system is in place to better everyone's enjoyment of the game. How? It makes us more efficient so that people can spend more time playing the game and less time being caught up in matters of bureaucracy.

Members selected for leadership positions have volunteered their time to help maintain the guild. Such service requires a personal interest and investment on the part of these members to see the guild succeed. Effective guild leadership requires dedication and sacrifice, so we ask everyone to respect these roles for that reason. That said, command ranks are functional, not honorary. Members who bear such titles are expected to participate, uphold our traditions, maintain our rules & encourage others.

GUILD OFFICER RANKS

Guild Master (GM)

The Guild Master is the reigning leader of the guild. He represents the highest authority within the guild, and his word supersedes that of any other. The Guild Master oversees all major guild operations and is ultimately responsible for guild welfare and warfare as well. He is also responsible for the creation and amendment of the guild law and the guild's values and principles. He leads autocratically, though relies heavily on the trusted members of the High Council to help maintain and operate the guild. The Guild Master, with the aid of the High Council, handles all political dealings, treaties, alliances, matters of war, and guild policy. It is up to the Guild Master to determine how the execution of these duties will be carried out and by whom. The Guild Master will serve in this leadership role until he appoints a successor.

High Council (HC)

It is a rare honour when a member is bestowed the rank of Lord and invited to serve on the High Council. Six Lords make up the governing High Council which presides over the guild and takes care of political matters so that the other members of the guild are more or less free of this responsibility. They will be responsible for declaring and or rescinding hostilities with other guilds, forging and maintaining alliances, member advancement, strategic planning, resource management, public relations, recruitment and training, and maintaining an intelligence network. Each Lord has their own duties, these duties often overlap, and additionally some of these duties fall upon the whole Council to deal with.

Due to the associated duties & responsibilities of being a member on the High Council, the selection process used to appoint Lords is a highly selective process. These individuals have proven their ability as leaders & loyalty to the guild and will serve as the heart of our guild. These individuals are the very essence of what it means to be a part of the guild, and they should serve as role models for everyone else in the guild. In the event that a position on the High Council needs to be filled, the Guild Master will select & approach an individual in the guild who he feels would best fill that role. Prerequesites include exceptional loyality, high maturity level, humble nature, exceptional patience, highly responsible, excellent understanding of the guild, uncomprimising principles, good communications & highly active in guild activities.

All guild decisions will be made by the High Council. The Guild Master presides over the High Council and oversees their activities. A majority vote is all that is necessary to pass any judgment. In the case of a tie, the Guild Master will cast the deciding vote. Furthermore, the Guild Master retains an overall power of veto in any decision making matters.

Lord

Lords are those few who have proven to be exceptionally responsible and capable leaders. Lords will serve as Class Leaders for the guild. Lords are the battlefield commanders charged with keeping their classes organised and obedient. Indeed a great burden lies in their hands and therefore only the most trusted members of the guild are granted this rank. Prerequisites include very high level of dedication, consistently active in-game & in our forums, highly professional attitude, desire to help the guild, leadership qualities & patience.

GUILD MEMBER RANKS

Member

Members make up the backbone of the guild. One could in fact argue the Member is the most important rank, since it is our Members who are seen as most respresenting the guild and carrying out its objectives. This is the only rank which grants a guild member all the rights and privledges of a full member, but at the same time does not incur any additional duties aside from the standard duties stated in the guild charter. A rigorous screening process is used when selecting Disciples for the rank of Member. Prerequisites include genuine enthusiasm towards the guild, loyality, a high level of maturity, patience, consistently active and commited to helping members of the guild. As they ascend the ranks through dedication and loyalty they will gain favour, and be recognized in the guild.

Initiate

Once your application has been accepted, you will be promoted to the rank of Initiate. Initiates are usually considered to be in a trial member of the guild. Typically this rank is held for no more than two weeks. The duration of your time at this rank will predominately be dependent on how active you are in-game, in the forums & over Ventrilo. Prerequisites include genuine enthusiasm for the game & our guild, maturity, patience, general understanding of the guild policies.
