Downloading Ventrilo
The first step to getting Ventrilo installed on your computer is to download it. Go to the Ventrilo website to download a copy of the Windows Ventrilo Client. The file size of the Ventrilo Client is about 1.91 MB. It is recommended that you download the Ventrilo Client directly to your desktop to make it easier to locate.
Installing Ventrilo
Installing the Ventrilo Client is very easy. Simply locate the executable file that you've previously downloaded to your desktop and double-click on it. A window will pop up on your screen asking if you would like to continue with the installation. Follow the simple instructions and after a minute or two your installation will be complete.
Running Ventrilo
After you've successfully downloaded and installed Ventrilo, you'll need to do some basic configurations to be able to connect to our Ventrilo server. First, you'll need to create a User Name for yourself. You can create your User Name by clicking the arrow (->) to the right of the User Name field. This will open up a Setup User screen with a New button on it. Click the New button and type in the username that was assigned to you. We have chosen to use your main character's name with your first name in parenthesis to make it easier to recognize everyone in Ventrilo. For example, Kahuna (Kawika).
After you've created the User Name, click the OK button to close out the window. You can set up more advanced options for your User Name, but that is beyond the scope of this guide.
Next, you'll need to open up the Connection Editor by clicking the arrow (->) to the right of Server. Click the New button as you did previously when creating a User Name, type in the name of the Ventrilo Server you wish to save (Team X-Calibre), and then click OK. Under Hostname or IP, type in the hostname boron.typefrag.com. Under Port number type in 29290. Enter the password that was assigned to you. Click the OK button to save this server to your list of servers.
Now simply click the Connect button at the top right of the Ventrilo main screen and you will connect to the Team X-Calibre server. And that's all it takes to be able to connect to a Ventrilo Server.
