Here is a simple guide on how to update your character to the roster.
Step 1
Download the latest version of Character Profiler and extract it to your \World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\ directory, in its own folder i.e. \World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\CharacterProfiler\ (see diagram 1 below)

Step 2
Now load up World of Warcraft. At the character selection screen you should see a red button at the bottom left called 'AddOns' (see diagram 2 below)
Diagram 2
Click on this button and you will get another window pop up detailing all your installed addons and which ones are currently activated. Ensure that 'RPGO Character Profiler' is ticked (see diagram 3 below).

Step 3
Now enter the game with your character. Once in, you now need to open up the following windows (see diagram 4 below):
- Bags
- Bank
- Spellbook
- Professions
- Stable (if you're a hunter)
- Summon pets (if you're a hunter/warlock)

(please note above image only shows some of the windows opened)
Once you have opened all the windows, now open your Character Details screen (see diagram 5 below) and in the top left corner of the window there should be a red 'Save' button. Click on it.

Step 4
Now exit the game. It is important that you have exit the game and not just logged out. Load up your internet browser and goto the Guild Roster page & select Update Profile.
The page should look similar to this:
The first box asks you to browse to the CharacterProfiler.lua file. Click on the browse button and goto \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\\SavedVariables\ folder, where is the name of your WoW account. Once you are in that folder, locate the CharacterProfiler.lua file and click the 'Open' button (see diagram 6 below)

You do not need to fill in any of the other boxes or tick any boxes (PvPLog is optional depending on whether you have PvPLog addon installed or not, if you do then repeat above step browsing to the pvplog.lua instead).
Now click the 'Upload' button. After a few seconds, you are done! Your character should now appear on the roster.
Please note: You will need to repeat Step 3 for each of your characters, in order to have all your characters uploaded to the roster.
Personally...I make it a habit to do all of the above each night before I log out of the game.
As a side note, for those who wish to have all of this automated...be sure to visit our FAQ - UniUploader page. This explains how to use the UniUploader program to automate all of the actions above. It's what I use.
